Daynight Pharmacy in Sherrard Street (next to Jupes gift shop and Knapps Family Butchers), is open from 7am until midnight Monday to Friday and 9am until midnight on Saturdays - equating to a total of 100 hours weekly.
The store, which opened on November 30, offers free prescription collection and delivery services to patients within a seven-mile radius of Melton.
Other services provided throughout the day include smoking cessation, healthy living advice, emergency hormonal contraception and medication administration aids for community and care home patients.
A pharmacist is always on-site, able to give free advice on medication and minor ailments, and the chemist claims its average waiting time for medicines is less than five minutes.
Pharmacist Charles Nyatsanza said: "The difference with us is that our door is always open. No longer will patients have to look up the rota to find out who is open till 6.30pm or travel to Loughborough or Leicester."
Formed in 2006, Daynight Pharmacy Ltd is a family-run business whose headquarters are in Derby. The Melton store is its eighth branch to open in the Midlands region, with three chemists in Derby and others in Leicester, Nottingham, Chesterfield and Stoke.
Karl Chad, superintendent of the company, said: “People need healthcare around the clock and we identified a genuine need in Melton.
"One of our other main advantages is accessibility and supply and delivery of medicines to residential care homes and nursing homes."
